I started as Business Unit Manager, with the main objective to lead and coach the sales force as well as project delivery. Due to my knowledge of the market, products and solutions required for the manufacturing and logistics industry, I was involved in the product development of the Kern-Stream product family as well. Kern-Stream was a process modelling tool enabling users to model their process and generate a real-time data warehouse.
January 2006 I was promoted to general manager. I was setting up a partner network in Europe to increase the salesvolume of the product family. After writing the business plan and strategy for Kern, I was fundraising to finance the further development of the product and marketing efforts for growth.
I sold four projects (amount up to 800 k€) although the product was not ready.

January 2004 I started working as account manager for LogicaCMG Belgium. Main objectives were to increase revenue at existing customers in the industrial market and business development (new customers) in the manufacturing area, using ICT technologies to enable process and plant optimisation. Responsible for, and leading bid quotations processes. My sales target was € 4 million.
I set up and worked out the business plan for the MES solution center in the Belgian market.

Before this period I was senior business consultant for the industrial market and utilities at LogicaCMG Netherlands. Work I did was varying from feasibility studies, making concepts and leading bid quotations (up to € 2 million), project management and change management all for different projects.
In manufacturing and logistics:
• Managed 3 parallel projects implementing MES and process automation at a feed manufacturing company with a team of 6 consultants. Automation designed according S88 and S95 standard. Project size in manhours was 480 k€.
• Managed a complex pilot project in a chemical batch plant integrating MES, ERP (SAP), RFID and barcode technology and leading a team of 5 consultants. Goal of the pilot was to learn, find and see the barriers and how to achieve operational excellence. Project size was 280 k€.
• Managed a Fit & Gap analysis and developed a blueprint for replacement of a MES system in 2 chemical batch plants simultaneously, leading a team of 4 consultants. Project size in manhours was 150 k€.
• Defined the user requirement specifications and developed blueprint and architecture for the technical automation in a pharmaceutical company, using S88 and S95 standards, which is used as their world wide standard at this moment.
In knowledge management:
• Made a definition study and wrote the functional specifications for a workflow management and knowledge management system in an R&D environment.
In CRM:
• Initiator for the CRM workgroup internal LogicaCMG.
• Counselling the research and mapped the organisational issues for a change from product focussed organisation to customer focussed organisation for a Telco operator.
In general IT architecture & infrastructure:
• Trouble-shooter for network problems in a manufacturing environment leading 2 consultants and 2 internal employees.
• As project manager responsible for the implementation of a time and invoicing system at an accountancy office, leading a team of up to 10 consultants.
• Writing a feasibility study for the replacement of a process control system in a utilities company.
In concept development:
• Developed a method and tool for production companies to define the best project portfolio helping to earn more money. This is based on different KPI’s for 11 different processes, 8 on primary and 3 on secondary processes. This method and tool is used and sold frequently by LogicaCMG.
• During the first years I was also selling the MES proposition internal LogicaCMG.

Guidance and control for software and hardware development for a warehouse management system in a niche market. I did development of strategy and was part of the management team. Negotiate and acquire other companies and products. Build a sales distribution network in Europe. I tripled the revenue and profit in 1 year up to € 1,8 million.

Account management on middle management level in the manufacturing industry. Project management and lead engineering on projects in a production environment, like:
• Lead engineer for the implementation of a process control system at a cacao production plant and leading a team of 4 engineers.
• Sold the project and acted as project manager for the implementation of a control system at a paint production plant. Project size was 150 k€.
• Sold the project and acted as project manager for the implementation of a control system for a mini ammonia test plant. Project size was 70 k€.
• Functional analyst and designer for control system for the expansion of a fuel platform at the airport Schiphol. Was responsible for the bid quotation process. Bid size was 500 k€.
• Test coordinator for process control and safety systems at refining company, leading team of 8 engineers.

Process control and project engineer for several projects on different plants at DSM polymers (now Sabic) Projects varied from building a control room to plan a new silo park including packaging line. As well as designing control strategies for a production plant. For these projects methods like HAZOP, checklist and “what if” scenarios were used.
Construction supervisor for the new installation of application software in the process control and safety systems during a revamp of a chemical plant. I was responsible for the total coordination between all sub-contractors and staff personnel, who had to implement around 30 different projects in 4 weeks time (shutdown)

Lead engineer over a team of 12 system engineers for the application software for the steam and power generation plant at AKZO/DELESTO BV. I was involved on this project from early start until startup of the plant. Due to proper changeorder management I created an extra € 2 million for Honeywell on this project.
As consultant / project assistant responsible to help a customer with the setup of a project in an ammonia plant. Had to give the lead to 10 engineers.

Professional history:
Wide experiences in general management, account management, business development, product development, consultancy and project management. I know the process of selling a proposition or concept external as well as internal an organization. I was involved in three M&A´s whereby my role was crusial.
Worked mainly in the manufacturing and logistics industry in petrochemicals, chemicals, pharma, food and discrete production. Know how to close deals and realise projects from beginning to the end by involving management as well as the shopfloor operator at the right time in the process.
