Work Experience

·Predictive financial modelling for organisations with annual budgets over £100m: capacity planning, resource allocation, the identification of cost savings, cross-functional synergies and potential change projects for systems, structures and operational cultures.

·Business case analysis and justification using a sophisticated comparitor methodology; very detailed knowledge of public sector funding and the PFI now PPP framework includes £220m hospital.

·Management accounting: collection, analysis and Board level reporting on all balance sheet matters: costs, liabilities, funding, banking, capital accounting, forecasting, etc.

·Specialist in IT/IS/Enterprise systems: technical specification and supplier selection; owner of long-term implementation processes (frequently over a year), monitoring delivery, negotiating with suppliers, controlling project plans, overcoming obstacles and working with senior colleagues across the departments on optimising the benefits of new systems.

Education

·MBA currently in progress with Strategy as the core and likely options to include Finance, HR and Knowledge Management; HND Business Studies (1979) with the emphasis on Finance (30%+), Law, Data and Organisational Methods; Open University BA for personal interest with based in Paris (1992-94).

·PwC Management Courses dealing with PFI and Public Sector Comparitor issues; extensive NHS training in skills like Appraisal, Conflict resolution, Time Management, etc.

·Technology: trained and experienced with Geac Smartstream, Ross, GL Millennium, Opera, Sage, Sun Accounts, Cognos; Access, Excel, Pegasus, Lotus and Office user with knowledge of programming in C+ and training in Visual Basic.
