Professional experience :

October 2002 - May 2004 : Chief Financial Officer for a Healthcare company ( European HQ in Brussels, 300 mio € Turnover)

Reporting to the President of Europe,Africa and Middle East,and the Worldwide CFO (USA). Responsible for the development of the finance organisation covering a shared service centre, multiple sales countries and 10 statutory entities.

- restructured the accounting function from 4 countries into 1 shared service Centre, involving harmonisation of accounting processes, reporting structures and peripherals. Increased output per FTE with 15 - 20%.

- turned arround poor credit situation for the whole European area ( + 80 sales countries, + 6000 customers ) and reduced overdues with more than 50%.

- redesigned financial analysis department in order to improve business ownership of financial planning process and increase understanding of improvement opportunities in product - and customer portfolio.

- developed specific approach to screen M&A targets and benchmark performance.

May 1997 - July 2002 : Chief Financial Officer for Tupperware ( European HQ, Geneva Switzerland, 400 mio € turnover, 25 countries, 5 production sites)

Reporting to the president Europe, Africa & Middle East, and the WW CFO (USA), covering 25 sales countries and 5 production sites.

- Built and lead the finance and IT organisations for the units in Europe, with focus on establishing a European data Centre and a European Shared Service Centre in Switzerland, involving multi-country standardisation and headcount reduction with 40 %.

- managed and developed optimisation strategies for the European production and distribution sites including the closing and sell off of a major production facility in Spain.

- provided the leadership to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate financial information to the CEO, the board of directors and the investment community.

- organised the business planning, budgeting and internal audit.

- acted as a valued member of senior management and participated actively in the strategic management of the business.

January 1992 - April 1997 : several executive finance functions for Tupperware in Belgium & Switzerland ranging from Plant Controller to Director reporting and Analysis EMEA.

August 1984 - December 1991 : UNILEVER - several finance functions with growing responsibilities. Including strong involvment in M&A and manufacturing related finance functions.

Attended several Executive Management Courses at IMD Lausanne, and internal development programs with Unilever and Tupperware

Strong background in manufacturing related projects, including location optimisation, closing of facilities, strategic cost reduction , investment analysis and process automation.
